Of course, the million dollar question is will the American people just lay
back and accept it or will they get off their asses and demand the
nationalization of the companies and of the healthcare system? I betting on
that they will wimper, whine themselves, and then lay back and take it
without any effective protests, general strikes, or recriminations against
their elected officials and political parties at the national, state, and
local levels. It would be refreshing to find the electorate telling local
and state politicians as well as political parties that they will not vote
for them opr anyone they endorse at any level for any office if the elected
officials of their political party at the national level do not nationalize
any private company that they give bailout money to or subsidize and if
they do not pass a national single payer healthcare system that covers
everyone in the country for medical, dental, and vision care and imp-lement
it within the next two years. But that would be dreaming at its best and
intellectual masturbation at its worst.

Dean Baker, Truthout: "The Wall Street bankers have impressed the world with
their ability to take or borrow trillions of taxpayer dollars and then
complain about excessive government intervention into their business. This
display of audacity is extraordinary even by the standards of US politics.
However, the health insurance industry is gearing to give the bankers a
serious contest for top spot as the biggest whiners on the national stage."
