[Peace-discuss] Fw: Lou Dobbs is dangerous

Failing to give someone a particular forum for e g spewing hateful lies isn't censorship. It's saying that that kind of speech isn't welcome (doesn't meet the standards) of those particular stations (it won't happen, of course -- too many folks sucking it up and $upporting the advertisers). But it would be great if CNN (and whatever stations run O'Reilly and Limbaugh and their ilk) were to set that kind of example for John and Jane Q Public. 

Whatever forum these low lifes do ultimately find, they're still be liable in a court of law if their hateful lies incite to violence.

"Hate speech" is in the ear of the beholder.

If I didn't believe so strongly in free speech, I might be tempted to censor strident calls for censorship.
I perceive partisan strife not righteous indignation in this call for censorship.

We can't go about censoring error.  We should rather should be focusing on proclaiming truth
and in weeding out error  in our own gardens.

I usually agree with most of your points and analysis, but how you can claim ANY similarities between Lou Dobbs ( and his promotion of racism against Mexicans and now inciting violence against those who want a watered down public healthcare option ) and Amy Goodman is beyond me !
