[Peace-discuss] petition period has begun for next year's D and R primaries

Anyone who might be interested in running for office in a Democratic
or Republican primary in Illinois next spring should be aware that the
legal period for passing nominating petitions has begun. I understand
the filing deadline is near the end of October - it's earlier than it
used to be, b/c they moved up the Illinois primary for Obama.

Mary Lee Sargent once said, "Everyone should run for office, at least
once." If you are a U.S. citizen, not currently in trouble with the
law, you should give it some thought.
