A Unified Peace Movement Against Obama War Escalation
	Wednesday, December 2, 2009

President Obama has chosen to escalate the war in Afghanistan, sending in
another 30,000-35,000 troops, bringing the total number of US troops in
Afghanistan to over 100,000 ... What's needed is a transition to non-military
means in Afghanistan - multi-party peace negotiations and increased development
and humanitarian aid to Afghan led projects.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 12th for the "No You Can't!" Rally at
the White House to warm Obama of the reprisals to the troop surge. Speakers
include: Cynthia McKinney, Sen. Mike Gravel, Kathy Kelly, Chris Hedges, David
Swanson, Phyllis Bennis, Rev. Graylan Hagler, Coy McKinney, Debra Sweet, and more.

Say YES to a real jobs program -
and NO to more troops in Afghanistan!

A White House Summit on Jobs is scheduled for Dec. 3. But instead of a jobs
program, the president is sending tens of thousands of troops to war in
Afghanistan at a cost of 50 billion more dollars on top of the fortune already
wasted on war. Join us on Dec. 3 in a protest in front of the White House during
the Jobs Summit to demand a real jobs program that can put the 30 million
workers who are either unemployed or underemployed to work at jobs that pay a
living wage.

Obama's Misguided War Speech Shouldn't Be the Last Word on Afghanistan
John Nicols, Alternet, Dec 1, 2009

"Presidents are not supposed to begin and end the discussion about war. With
both parties divided over Afghanistan, it's time for Congress to debate the
Obama's war plan."
