[Peace-discuss] "The war on Terror" language abating?

Obviously to the Obama administration, this is not a change in the substance
of policies but a change in marketing of the same old basic policies (given
a few tweaks here and there, a few minor revisions and changes on the
periphery, and some new window dressing and terminology). The two questions
are: 1) will the foreigners who this is mainly directed at in an attempt to
put on a new and more acceptable faced in their eyes fall for the new
marketing of old policies; and 2) will the American liberal and progressive
supporters and apologists for Obama fall for it and treat the new packaging
as being new policies that are substantively and significantly different
from previous ones?

Unfortunately, Amerikans are inclined to fall for the marketing of old wine
in new bottles - especially if they like the wine seller or feel the need to
leave the wine seller free from challenge in order to alleviate their own
quilt over past bigoted or biased treatment of the seller.
