Yes, I used to think that ALL wars/conflicts were economic, and I think there's something to that, if you look far enuff back in time to what caused the fear and hatred in the first place.

Yes, that's very true.

Also, peace shouldn't simply be a lack of violent warfare.
(I don't expect this to be a controversial position, just
pointing it out.)  Economic compulsion can cause wholesale
destruction too.
