Again, if Afghanistan were in central Africa, the threats it poses would not 
require ten of thousands of the US military.  After 9/11, neocon Douglas Feith 
suggested the US bomb South America -- to kill terrorists there, "where they 
wouldn't be expecting it" -- but found no takers in the USG.
