The Canadians have generally been on the side of those who gave Socrates the
hemlock.  Their Charter of Rights, such as it is, dates only from 1982.

Chomsky in fact has put it, "If we don't believe in freedom of expression for
people we despise, we don't believe in it at all."  --CGE
