Tell
A Friend<http://salsa.wiredforchange.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=6Gt3ML%2FuED6ZRpfzmc3Brk9UWKDE2pH9>

Dear friend of Green Change,

It's not only AIG that is taking advantage of American taxpayers. Congress
is too.

In January, Members of Congress gave themselves a $4,700 pay raise. They
now earn a princely $174,000 annual salary, plus pension and perks.

Tell the House Majority Leader and your congressperson to stop Congress's
automatic pay raises.<http://salsa.wiredforchange.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=wAK8pHznbPsDOOSztIpSq09UWKDE2pH9>

Twenty years ago, Congress passed the infamous "midnight pay grab" granting
itself automatic pay raises. These raises have greatly enriched our
lawmakers at public expense, and have elevated them to an economic position
far above the vast majority of other Americans.

Finally, on March 17th, the U.S. Senate voted to stop the automatic annual
pay raises for Members of Congress.

However, House Democratic leaders want to keep the automatic pay raises.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said he's "not for" the bill to stop the
automatic pay raises, and that he "not going to commit to bringing it to the
[House] floor" for a vote. (1)

We taxpayers deserve better.

Bring our greedy Congress and its pay raises under control.

Tell Rep. Hoyer and your congressperson that you want them to support and
pass legislation to stop Congress's automatic pay
raises.<http://salsa.wiredforchange.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=9n2Yyi9cxL7JSElCNFwasE9UWKDE2pH9>
