There was nothing voluntary about this, John. CCHCC took both Carle and Provena to court over this. As I recall, when the ruling came down, Provena caved pretty early in the game, but Carle fought it tooth and nail until the bitter end, and only aquiesed b/c they were out of other options. I'm sure you want to nominate Carle for this award, and I'm not holding my breath that they'll be worthy of any other award of this nature any time soon.

Hey, y'all -- while some of y'all are writing yr end-of-the-year charity checks, remember to include CCHCC (Champaign County Health Care Consumers) along w/ other worthy local organizations, and JFP (Just Foreign Policy) along w/ other worthy national ones.

Or maybe nominate Carle itself.  Don't the Champaign County Health Care Consumers get awards like this all the time?  I think corporate actors, too, should be recognized if they behave in a socially responsible manner.
