[Peace-discuss] Team Obama Divided, Public Strongly Opposed, to More Troops in Afghanistan

"...Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. ... has expressed deep reservations about 
an expanded presence in Afghanistan on the grounds that it may distract from ... 
the more urgent goal of stabilizing Pakistan..."

Just as Obama argued that during the campaign that "an expanded presence in Iraq 
distracted from the more urgent goal of stabilizing Afghanistan," which he 
called "the central front in the war on terror."

The Deep Thinkers have determined that the real threat to US hegemony in the 
Mideast comes from Pakistan.  (See. e.g., George Will, and Stephen Biddle

So Obama Moves East. It would be better to stop the war by stopping the money, 
which doesn't even take a majority in Congress.
