One problem with the studies showing that the "more educated" tend to be "more 
conservative" in their opinions is that "education" is usually taken to be measured 
by years in school/college or degrees obtained,  not differentiating the large 
numbers of people in fields such as agriculture, engineering, law, medicine & 
natural science, who tend to be mostly quite conventional or conservative in their 
political outlook.

If the numbers  for people in the humanities & social sciences were broken out, the 
results might look very different.
