Cool it folks.  All I suggested was that a reading of Whyte's take on William Randolph Hearst,yellow journalism and the Spanish-American War certainly differs from that of Swanberg and Welles.  Also, that  reading and digesting his presentation might improve one's understanding of the subject.  No judgment of merit was offered and none is being offered now.  If you see the world through the eyes of Chomsky, Gore Vidal, Rush Limbaugh, or any other limited human, you will probably not have a very good grasp of reality -- assuming that reality exists.
