[The guy is a long-time spook - CIA, DIA, etc. - most recently at the
hastily-assembled (after 9/11) "National Counter Terrorism Center," and another
indication of how little the permanent government changes. It's amazing that
there are still people who believe that the current administration represents
any change. Here's Obama's man to prevent any changes coming from the Wikileaks
revelations.]

/US president has appointed an anti-terrorism expert to prevent WikiLeaks from
releasing more documents which could further damage the administration's reputation.

Amid the continuing uproar over the latest batch of classified information
disclosed on WikiLeaks website, there are signs that indicate President Barack
Obama's administration was seriously stung by the move and is taking substantive
steps to avoid a repeat.

Obama on Wednesday appointed Russell Travers to lead US efforts to diminish
further damage through preventing WikiLeaks' future illegal data disclosures, a
White House statement said.

Travers is the senior adviser for information access and security policy at the
National Counterrorism Center.

He will lead the campaign to ensure that no more secret documents land up on the
WikiLeaks website.

He will also work with agencies on options for technological and policy changes
to limit the potential for another breach, AFP reported.

Washington has been very concerned ever since the whistleblower website started
releasing classified documents of US soldiers activities in Iraq and Afghanistan
and especially last weekend when it began publicly disclosing some 250,000
secret diplomatic cables, many of which revealed embarrassing assessments of
foreign leaders.
