[Peace-discuss] a friend: Haiti's problem is overpopulation

My point was and is, ALL females of reproductive age should have access to affordable birth control which they can choose to use or not... And it if benefits their society, while also benefiting themselves and their families, so much the better -- they should be encouraged to use it and reap any benefits available to them as a result -- health, education, a better life in general. Denying birth control to women because they're poor and/or powerless is criminal... and those who accuse e g Planned Parenthood of discriminating on the basis of race or class are trying to cover up their own agenda: preventing the use of birth control whenever and wherever they can, regardless of the consequences to women, their families, their societies. These accusers believe that contraception is against God's will, and they will use any excuse they can find or manufacture -- including accusing birth control proponents of discrimination and ulterior motives -- to disguise
their own destructive beliefs and behaviors. Is there really any more we can add to this discussion?? I'm done. --Jenifer

Maybe Carl should consult on these issues with his guru, Chomsky. He should ask Chomsky  if the latter believes the poor world peoples should have access to birth control and abortion. But of course, Carl will deflect this question by going off in some other direction, posing another issue, as usual.

Overpopulation is always a problem, as the word implies. But there are instances where it is tolerable because of wealth, or outside aid and resources, for example. The Netherlands does (do?) quite well. So does New York City.. Gaza would be better off if it could have a viable population and received support from others to beneficially sustain its economy and people. Ditto Haiti. China knew what it had to do. So does India.

Carl likes to vituperate.
