The war supplemental is expected to come back to the House next week
(without any timetable for withdrawal and without any money to save
teachers jobs attached.)

The Friends Committee on National Legislation has established a
toll-free number for folks to call Washington and urge their
Representative to oppose the war supplemental. That number is
1-888-493-5443.

It is virtually certain that Rep. Johnson will vote no. However: 1)
it's a good thing for him to get calls in support of his position, in
particular because his position is not now supported by the majority
of Republicans, and 2) every call on the toll-free number adds to
FCNL's tally of folks who called Congress in opposition to the war
supplemental.

I called this morning, thanking Rep. Johnson for his opposition to the
war supplemental. It took about 15 seconds.
