For what it's worth, I remember that at one time, perhaps 40 years ago, Etzionni had interesting things to say, and could even have been considered a progressive voice. That changed, and I was surprised to find stuff he was writing (even many years ago, 20?) not so different from what now is being quoted. A pretty despicable character. The roots of his idealogical change might be interesting to analyze, worth some literary, psychological  and/or sociological analysis. --mkb
