Glenn Greenwald is strongly anti-war and anti-authoritarian and is popular among both progressives and libertarians. Greenwald accurately identifies Kagan as a sycophant (in the most original sense) for the authoritarian Obama Administration. Greenwald compares her to John Woo as a potential trasher of the Constitution, someone who would support the unconstitutional Bush-Obama authoritarian expansion of presidential power. Greenwald further connects the dots between Kagan and GoldmanSachs and the bankster syndicate.

Greenwald's analysis was harsh, but I tho't both Amy and her other guest, law professor Jamin Raskin neutralized much of his criticism w/ their comments. An interesting exchange, check it out at

A lively discussion which shows what a flake Kagan is likely to be can be seen on Democracy Now, a debate between Glenn Greenwald and a defender of Kagan. She's already been chosen by Obama, typical for him. --mkb

More bad news for civil libertarians, but I suppose one must wait until the nomination is formally presented, and approved.
Kagan in Context: Shafting Progressive Values
If President Obama has his way, Elena Kagan will replace John Paul Stevens -- and the Supreme Court will move rightward. The nomination is very disturbing, especially because it's part of a pattern.
The White House is in the grip of conventional centrist wisdom. Grim results stretch from Afghanistan to the Gulf of Mexico to communities across the USA.
