[Peace-discuss] Aaron Glantz on military suicide rates

Here's one of a couple articles mentioned at yesterday's AWARE meeting:

Don McClure noted that Aaron Glantz had written a piece
about the high rate of military suicides. Among other things,
it documents that rates of death at home among young veterans
(under 35, so young enough that many would have been to
Iraq or Afghanistan or both) *exceeds* the numbers of those
who died while deployed during the same time (2005-8).
(He looked at San Francisco Bay Area vets and active-duty military.)k

Here's that article:

  "After Service, Veteran Deaths Surge"

Don suggested that perhaps Glantz might be willing to
participate remotely (via recording, say) in the
IVAW panel on suicides in the military, now expected
to be in early February.

This is a cool idea. Aaron Glantz has local connections too --
he's a good friend of Danielle Chynoweth, at least.
