I'd stumbled on this op-ed from the (right-wing but widely read) Jerusalem Post.

Its author thinks the US is offering Israel a raw deal by only
promising the military aid that Israel deserves anyway,
and only a year's unconditional support in the UN, in exchange for
90 days of Israel's giving up its settlers' inalienable property rights.

According to her, the US is bent on "more Israeli land surrenders".

Or, if the Security Council recognizes a Palestinian state,
it might lead to economic sanctions.  "The purpose of such sanctions would be
to strangle Israel slowly, in a manner reminiscent of the economic and
political warfare that brought down the apartheid regime in South Africa."

Nice that she recognizes the parallel.

And so on.  It's grimly enlightening.
