Jenifer,

I DON'T have the so called " luxury " of having a middle class income and I am still going to vote for every Green candidate that is on the ballot !

Why ?

Because I am sick and tired of the lies and back stabbing of the democrats, that have sold out working people now for over 15 years.
I would make exceptions for the small handful of democrats like Dennis Kuccinich at the national level and certain local democrats that have represented their constituents in spite of corporate bribes and threats.

It never ceases to amaze me how seemingly well educated and intelligent people who have good values and want a better world continue to buy into the two party shell game being played upon them by the corporate interests who laugh all the way to the bank.

I see this every election year. Progressives don't vote for the person they really want in the primaries ( like Dennis Kuccinch ) because they are told by the corporate media that this person can't win. Next thing you know it becomes a self fullfilling prophecy. They don't win and we end up with corporate whores like Bill Clinton and Barrack Obama.
Then comes the general elections and these same supposedly intelligent progresives are told by the corporate media that only the lesser of two evils work and that they must vote for corporate funded candidate A or corporate funded candidate B and that the Green party can not win. Next thing you know another self fullfilled prophecy happens.

And then these same people wonder why nothing ever changes.

Instead of voting for the candidate and /or the party that best reflects their views and priorities and win or loose, use this voting block to force concessions from the DNC and the other party, and at the same time build a non-corporate third party, and each election both local and nationally continue to build a larger base of support, many progressives just give-up and HOPE for CHANGE instead of fighting and working for it.

By the way, Nader and the Greens did not cause Gore and Kerry to lose, the election was STOLEN from both of them, but neither had the guts to fight it. Instead they took their stand down orders from their corporate masters, and progressive democrats, instead of raising hell about a sell out via the DNC and a corporate crushing of our democracy, they blamed Nader and the Greens.
The easy way out.

There is only one way out of this vicious circle.
DO NOT vote for ANY candidate that takes corporate money.
Vote and campaign ONLY for candidates who DO NOT take corporate money.

David J.

Well, the right-wingers are framing this as an election against Obama, and the MSM (of course) is going along w/ them... So no surprise that the nay-sayers on this list are falling into line behind them as well...
I would also argue that choosing the lesser of evils can be seen as a vote against the greater of two evils, and that it's our responsibility to do that (hoping that we all agree on 1) this principle, and 2) which candidates we must therefore vote for... )

Can we agree that things have become worse (Citizens United) and can become even worse if the elections go to the Greater of Evils?? It continues to bother me that those All or Nothing Purists who are Taking A Stand and Voting Their Consciences have the luxury of doing that -- rent and utilities has been paid on their Ivory Towers, no problem, and they have zero empathy for those who are affected by losses to the greater of evils, so long as their consciences -- publicly flashed -- are squeaky clean.

We might note, for the sake of clarity & mental balance, that it is
impossible to vote AGAINST anyone, & that the demon Obama will not be
on the ballot, so it is likewise impossible to vote for or against him,
whatever one's doctrinal or ideological fervor.
