[Peace-discuss] "Progressivism" as nonsense

That's dangerous nonsense. Obama et al. have been notable successes for those
whom they've been working for from the beginning, the American economic elite.
They restored the fortunes of that small group in the banking and insurance
industries and staved off the demand for serious health-care reform.
They haven't even had to answer a demand for a serious jobs program or support
for the foreclosed middle class; real wages are lower than they were 30 years
ago, and protest has been turned aside.
They've greatly expanded the killing in the Mideast, which serves the
geopolitical and financial interests of that elite; and they've pacified the
political class in the US - the 20% of the population with good degrees who
consider themselves politically aware - with the bogeyman of the Tea-party.
Pretty good for "miserable failures." --CGE
From <http://www.counterpunch.org/green09272010.html>:
"In the 1980s, Ronald Reagan presented America with a set of economic lies so
transparent that even a monster like George H. W. Bush called them 'voodoo
economics.'
"Obama and crew are miserable failures, as completely unable to provide
meaningful solutions to the problems facing Americans today as they are inept at
winning political fights against manifest criminals."
