[Peace-discuss] Would AWARE like to invite Kathy Kelly to do another event while she's here, 2/18-19?

Peaceable people,

As you've likely heard, Kathy Kelly will be in town on
Friday, Feb. 18th, to speak at the YMCA Friday Forum that noon
("Prophetic Voice/Public Witness: Searching for a Non-Violent Approach").

She'll be in town for a couple of days -- maybe Thursday evening
through Saturday evening.   Kasey Umland of the Y, planning her itinerary,
wrote to ask whether we (AWARE or whoever) would like to invite her
to do something else while she's here.  (!!!)

Sounds cool to me.  We might see whether she could speak
on Fri. evening 2/18, or on Sat. afternoon 2/19, say.   Ideas?

One: Brian Terrell, of an Iowa Catholic Worker group,
visited Afghanistan in December with a Voices for Creative Nonviolence group
which included Kathy Kelly.  (He's a friend of Sam and Allison's.)
Brian had already agreed in principle to come and speak about what
they'd seen, about the experiences of the Afghan people in war,
etc.  Should we try to see whether Terrell could come to C-U at the
same time, and talk about their joint experience?

Where would be a good place?  Perhaps the Mennonite Church would be
interested?  (Champaign Library is busy both days, and it's a rather
sterile location anyway.  Channing-Murray might be possible; I'm not sure
how to read their schedule, but they may be busy too.)
