The morning papers bring more indications that the administration is planning a
major move soon in its Long War in the Middle East.

It could be a stand-down/withdrawal of troops from AfPak - and the substitution
of air-power - because the Afghans Are Unworthy:

Petraeus is dished (scuttling his 2012 chances*) and the Air Force (Gates'
step-child) comes roaring back.

At the extreme, this could mean a seizure of Pakistani nukes (which may be what
Raymond Davis was preparing), but that's so dangerous that Obama may prefer to
use ordnance to say he's kept his promise of withdrawal from SW Asia - like
Nixon in re SE Asia in 1973.

_____________
*If Obama sides with Petraeus' biter enemies in the Pentagon, Petraeus would
have to run for president on a "I Was Winning!" stab-in-the-back platform. And
the pols suggest that that wouldn't fly with US voters. Obama and his employers
read the polls.
