RALLY TO PROTEST EMERGENCY MANAGER BILLS
            Dear Martin:
The Michigan AFL-CIO will be holding a rally to protest the 'Emergency Manager' bills package that is currently in the State Senate. There will be a vote on the Senate floor on Tuesday, March 8th, and we will be outside of the Capitol building to tell our represenatives to VOTE NO on Senate Bills 153 through 158.
These bills echo the anti-worker legislation in Wisconsin by proposing to strip away bargaining rights. Additionally, these bills will essentially nullify the people's vote by allowing emergency managers to remove elected officials without any checks or balances from the people or an elected body. This bills package is moving very fast through the legislature - make your voice heard in opposition to these anti-worker, anti-democratic bills.
