Going molten is also really bad for a second reason. As the very hot
molten cracks the containers, it is exposed to water directly. Even
the water in the dry concrete is a problem.

The meeting of the molten blob and the water will basically make the
molten go into tiny air-born droplets.

The image I got from the description was very much like the sputtering
and splattering of an extremely hot skillet of oil and water dropped
into it.
