[Peace-discuss] [Discuss] NG endorses Schweighart

The News-Gazette wrote:

I think it is evidence that Schweighart is lacking qualities that are
INDEED needed in the office of mayor:
1) listen to reason and 2) pay attention to the issues instead of
picking on someone for personal reasons.

a) Schweighart refuses to believe that a police officer might have been wrong.
b) Schweighart maintains that businesses are good for Champaign no
matter what the business is [Walmart] or does [polluting] or whether
it pays taxes [Walmart].
c) Schweighart does not listen to or believe people who are poor and
he thinks society should only contain the rich [I paraphrase a comment
he has made more than once: the poor should move to the outskirts of
town or better yet, Urbana] (He fails to realize that the rich make
their money of the work of the poor).

Schweighart is a party man, whether it be a political party or a party
of police officers.
