A new independent poll from national opinion research firm Public Policy Polling shows Congressman Tim Johnson as (one of) the most endangered Republicans in the nation and the top takeout target for Democrats in Illinois. Johnson received only 33 percent of the vote in the poll of registered voters in the new CD13. The six term Congressman and 40 year politician is losing by 20 points to "someone else" (33-53).

That "someone else" is Dr. David Gill an Emergency Room physician, husband and father from Bloomington, Illinois, who has never been a politician.

David Gill is running a citizen-powered campaign to stand up to Wall Street banks and corporate lobbyists and fight for jobs and economic opportunity for the rest of us.

The Democratic field has now cleared to make Dr. Gill the consensus opposition candidate to defeat Tim Johnson and take back a key seat from the Republicans. Dr. Gill's main primary opponent Jay Hoffman dropped out of the race Thursday to run for state representative.
