Civil disobedience is not boycotting their stores.
Civil disobedience implies a refusal to comply with unjust laws and
regulations
on the basis of some matter of principle.
Widespread refusal to pay their parking meters and putting
a complaint against the police in the ticket envelope instead of cash
would be a for instance example. Good luck with that.
Thoreau's act of disobedience required some 100+ years to
have its effect, and his writings are considered fantasy
rather than a code for living.
