[Peace-discuss] "Accompaniment" (of people released from ICE custody) training in Chicago, 9/19, 8th Day Center for Justice

(Though this is happening in Chicago and perhaps no one from C-U will participate,
we might be glad to know this kind of training is happening:
for individuals/communities/congregations wishing to assist people released
from ICE custody, who have often been separated from their families and
may need help with transportation, with a place to stay, etc.  Heard about this
8th-Day-Center-for-Justice event via ICJPE [IL Coalition for Justice, Peace and
the Environment], of which AWARE is a member.)

Description: For those interested in learning how individuals, communities and
congregations can develop teams to accompany men and women released from ICE
(Immigration and Customs Enforcement) Custody, there will be an information
workshop and training September 19, 2011 from 1-4 p.m.  at the Brother David
Darst Center 2834 South Normal Ave, Chicago IL 60616-2516.

In addition to providing accompaniment, there are several others ways to offer
assistance including fundraising and providing duffle bags with basic clothing
