[Peace-discuss] peace vs. peace-discuss, mmm, discussion

Ya'aqov,

If we had only one list, it would be peace-discuss and we would only
have the 160 members.

We have a second list (peace) so that people who just want to know
about upcoming events can get those and nothing else. Over 400 people
are on that one BECAUSE it is low traffic and it is of value to them.*

160 people who enjoy a good conversation... or perhaps, as you
suggested, people who are content to delete a lot of posts -- are on
peace-discuss.

Perhaps an analogy:
If people signed up for a basic math class (peace) but when they came
to a class session it was a football game (peace-discuss), people
would walk out.

* I subscribe to both because I like the discussions and I like to
know about the events and I don't have to sort through the discussions
to find the event announcements.
