Plant, Kirby & Oak)*
*SEIU pickets to Save the Holidays*
Come stand with the Service Employees International Union. U of I
building service workers are in contract negotiations, and there'll be a

solidarity with the SEIU!

*Thu 12/13 11:00AM Tim Johnson's office*
*"No Cuts to Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid!"*

Rally and press conference outside *Tim Johnson's office, 2004 Fox
Dr., Champaign.*
Though not re-elected, Johnson is still in Congress for the current
session and can still have an impact.

Also, *telephone Senator Durbin!* 202-224-2152 (DC) or
217-492-4062 (Springfield),
and tell him to "oppose any cuts to Social Security, Medicare and
Medicaid as part of the fiscal cliff negotiations".
More about this in a separate e-mail - they're proposing other
actions as well.

Organized by Champaign County Health Care Consumers, Citizen Action
IL, and the IL Alliance for Retired Americans.

*Fri 12/14 2:30PM* *Channing-Murray Foundation*, 1209 W. Oregon, Urbana
*Jobs with Justice* press conference, with a *Resolution on the Upcoming
Budget Negotiations.*

A summary: Recognizing that the American people have voted for
defending the middle class and for supporting vulnerable populations
among us, this resolution calls for adopting a budget agreement which -
     * asks all Americans to pay their fair share of taxes
     * prioritizes job creation first, including investments in good
jobs, education, and infrastructure improvements,
     * does not cut Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security, nor shift
costs to beneficiaries or to the states,
     * protects the safety net and vital services for poor people,
     * stops the sequester's automatic budget cuts,
     * cuts the military budget
