How about a cradle with a baby (doll) in it.  Over the cradle would be a 
very large mobile made of  2D paper clouds with the words of things that potentially threaten the child's future.  You could use words like: 
"WAR", "POVERTY", "HUNGER", etc.  Don't use more than 4-6 words 
otherwise it would be too crowded for people to read the clouds.  People could walk alongside with signs that have statistics that support the 
theme. Example:  "(number) of the world's children died of malnutrition 
in 2010"  Make sure they aren't wordy (after all, you want folks to read them!)
