[Peace-discuss] "Kony" propaganda

1) I have learned some things because of the REACTION to the campaign
(not from the campaign itself).

2) And I kind of like the hypocrisy pointed out in the poster Carl
shared: Killing children is wrong unless you are the United States and
Israel.

3) Also, I think on the whole, it shows that people want to know what
is going on and that they care about people -- which is a good thing.
The problem is 1) that they like it black and white -- a really bad
guy with whom they don't want any empathy and is easy to hate. Another
part of the problem is 2) the lack of problem-solving options to the
U.S. masses -- killing the bad guy is strongly implied and military
intervention is the only solution people think of. As if it were all a
game or a movie.
