[Peace-discuss] Good News on Syrian strike

I attended the Immigration Forum, and kinda snuck up to Sen. Durbin, as he stood in the crowd, and asked him if now that President Obama had agreed to seek Congressional Approval for a military strike against Syria, would he urge his colleagues in Congress to say NO, to a military strike. He responded, "I will have to listen to the debates to make my decision". I merely thanked him, and left. Wish I could have said something more but didn't wish to be impolite to the speakers on Immigration reform.

And more time to put pressure on our elected representatives.
We should be clear that our Democratic representative, Senator Durbin, is more likely to vote for the attack than the Republicans, Senator Kirk and Rep. Davis.
We should put pressure on local Democrats to call off their murderous party leaders, state and national.

My opinion:

He's doing this to cover his ass, put the blame on Congress. Who cares.....

This makes our "anti-war movement more important than ever, in that we now have a chance to convince our representatives its not in their best interests to support further war".

Most of all it sets a precedent for following the "legal process" per our constitution.

It allows for more time, debate, and information to be brought forward.
