[Peace-discuss] Article on Counterpunch website

There are those who would try to tell us that the higher expenditures 
for higher education have improved
the quality of education as compared to what it was when the tuition at 
the U of I was $343/semester.

Those folks have the same thinking as those who think that higher 
medical bills get you better health.

If you have a dead chicken or a dead horse, the maggots will consume all 
of it.  Provide the university with a larger potential source of income 
and maggot-like it will increase its collective appetite until it's all 
gone.

The university is a much a part and beneficiary of the 
financial-education industrial complex as
the health care providers are a beneficiary of the medical-insurance 
industrial complex.  The expenses
expand to consume all of the sacrifice, and lick up the water around the 
altar as well.

It's not necessarily evil per se.  That's how it works.  Push on the 
accelerator and the motor compensates.
