I should add that the reason the US has blocked the international consensus for a two-state solution is that Israel is a 'stationary aircraft carrier' in America's long-term political and military policy of controlling Mideast energy resources. It's important to see that control of those resources - not just access to them - is what the US has demanded since WWII.

Shortly after the invasion of Iraq, Zbigniew Brzezinski, one of the more astute of U.S. senior planners and analysts, pointed out in the journal National Interest that America's control over the Middle East "gives it indirect but politically critical leverage on the European and Asian economies that are also dependent on energy exports from the region." If the United States can maintain its control over the world's major energy supplies, that will enhance significantly its strategic power and influence over its major rivals in the tripolar world that has been taking shape for the past 30 years: US-dominated North America, Europe, and Northeast Asia (Japan, both Koreas, China and Asiatic Russia), linked to South and Southeast Asia economies. (Hence the importance of US control in the Mideast for Obama's "pivot to Asia.") America's principal rivals are the EU and the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization, q.v.) plus Japan.

The US is willing to kill a lot of people to secure that control. President Obama reportedly told aides he’s “really good at killing people” (from “Double Down,” by journalists Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, a new book on the 2012 election). And Israel (in effective alliance with the Saudis and the GCC) remains the chief US client in this long-term imperial enterprise. But the people of the region may yet frustrate the plans of the American 1% and their minions, such as President Obama.

It would be 'helpful' indeed for Israel to obey international law, end the occupation, and cease its oppression of the inhabitants of the territories.

It is only this US support that has blocked the international consensus - which has existed for a generation - for a 'two-state solution.'

I have often heard you supporting Palestinian propaganda slogans, as long as they were against, as you put it, Israel and AIPAC. By 'Israel' you shortcut to 'Zionists', 'bad guys'. So I knew what you were against. But I don't quite know what you are for. Would you please state what you consider 'Palestinians' and what you think would be helpful to the Palestinians? I would appreciate your limiting your answer to one paragraph. Thank you,

>> Press Release: David Green supports P5+1 talks with Iran and opposes attempts to undermine them with further sanctions against Iran
>> David Green, candidate for U.S. Congress in IL-13, agrees with a statement by antiwar activist Media Benjamin regarding a positive development in 2013:
>> “Talks with Iran are progressing, despite Israel and AIPAC’s objections. The P5+1 group of Britain, China, France, Russia, the United States and Germany has made great headway in finding a solution to diffuse the crisis around Iran’s nuclear program. Negotiators are anxious to take advantage of the opening represented by the election of a moderate Iranian leader, President Hassan Rouhani. Sadly, a group of both Democrats and Republicans in Congress, along with the AIPAC lobby, threaten to derail the talks by pushing for greater sanctions against Iran. If we can move ahead with talks, 2014 could be the year we finally ditch the Bush-era “axis of evil” treatment and build friendly relations with Iran.”
>> The primary Republican sponsor of the Senate bill that threatens greater sanctions against Iran is our own Senator Mark Kirk. David Green firmly opposes his dangerous and potentially destructive efforts, and calls upon his opponents in the Democratic Party for U.S. Congress in IL-13 to do the same—or to clearly state their reasons for doing otherwise.
