[Peace-discuss] at SignOn: NPR, CFR: Don't Enable Elliott Abrams' Smear Campaign on Chuck Hagel

Didn't you recently refer to yourself as a "pro-Obama Jew," Bob?

Well, I'm opposed to Obama's murderous policies (and only spiritually a Jew*): the appointment of Hagel seems to me just a cynical cover for the appointment of John Brennan to the CIA, and for the promotion of the policies that that filthy spook has been administering for Obama.

Some intelligent observers think otherwise (e.g. <http://mondoweiss.net/2013/01/antiwar-president-support.html>) - but that seems wishful thinking. US war policy remains remarkably consistent, barring major domestic opposition. Hagel is meant precisely to prevent the growth of such opposition.

(The Hagel appointment may however indicate something else that's been true for a long time: the position of the government of Israel is less important to US war planners than either that government's friends or enemies think.)
