How do you eliminate that 'deep seated racism'?

Force everyone to swear not to hold racial prejudices?

Kill those who swear falsely?

Thus the Virginia of my youth was a racist state (e.g., a Chinese friend could not marry a white person in the Commonwealth in those days), but it is no longer; South Africa, formerly a racist state, is not one today, although racial prejudice continues; and Israel remains a racist state, even if some of its residents lack racial prejudice. In this sense, racism had nothing to do with the murder of Trayvon, but racial prejudice might have.

We need to ask about the circumstances that led to an armed ne'er-do-well with a handgun patrolling a gated community to guard it from 'punks.'
