Dear Robert,

Right now, Congress is considering sending heavy weapons to rebels in
Syria. *You don’t have to reach back all that far in the history books to
know what a bad idea that is.*

We don’t really know who these rebels are. And we have no means to control
our weapons once they are transferred. Our weapons could make their way to
groups that will use them against United States forces, or those of our
allies, in the blink of an eye.

Congress is getting ready to jump knee-deep in the middle of another armed
conflict in the Middle East. *And I need your help to urge them not to do
it.*

*I’m one of only three Senators on record against this plan. Let Congress
know that you’re against the U.S. sending heavy weapons to Syria. Add your

There is no doubt that Syrian President Assad is a vicious dictator who
cannot remain in power.

But if the U.S. sends advanced weapons into Syria, we’ll have little
control over where those weapons end up. There are even reliable reports
that some of the rebels have ties to Al Qaeda and other radical groups in
the Middle East.

Sending weapons is the first step that leads down a path to war. We’ve
walked that path before, in places like Iraq. *Once you start, there is no
turning back.*

*We can’t afford to rush into Syria’s Civil War. And members of Congress
need to hear your voice on this issue. Sign the petition today and let them
