I know, and its going to get much worse as climate change and destruction of the environment continues. Population growth will add to the problem, and our continued pursuit of "happiness" byway of the commercial. 
 
My daughter a proud graduate of U of I chemistry grad dept., has been working with a start up in Silicon Valley on a synthetic fuel substitute for diesel, and hopefully will continue to focus on alternative energy sources.  She has been concerned for some time over the use of biofuels.

Presently the USA effectively starves people in poor countries 

by use of the immoral production of so-called biofuels.



Precious foodstuffs are converted to automobile fuels.



There is little or no net production of energy,

but a massive amount of biological energy is taken

out of the global marketplace.
