Thank you to all who came out today on such short notice. Many people were not able to attend given prior commitments.
David Johnson, and David Green were there before Stuart and I arrived with signs. Ron and Rebecca Szoke attended, as did Rohn Koestner. My neighbor Hongs' daughter and her boyfriend joined us as well. So all totaled we had nine people though not all at the same time.
The leaflet from last week was quite appropriate, and it was a beautiful, though very windy day. There were many diners, though we didn't get the notice we usually do at our Saturday demonstrations.
Do we feel good or better about ourselves for having protested air strikes on Iraq? No, not really.
Do we think we made a difference? No, but we had to do something to voice our discontent and hope that it won't happen.
Please keep signing those petitions folks.

The US is "considering" use of military force to
support the Iraqi government - against the same insurgents whom
we're already supporting as they fight the Syrian government.
Adding military fuel to the fire is no answer in Iraq.

At today's AWARE table we talked about the alarming prospect of
use of new US military force in Iraq. If you can spare a few
minutes tomorrow morning/early afternoon, please join us for a
      special demonstration -

        Main and Neil, downtown
        Champaign (the usual demonstration site)

          Sunday, June 15th

11:30am - 1:00pm (but not the usual time)

We'll aim to have some signs, but if you have time to make a new
one, that could be good. Likewise if you have an idea for a sign
you'd like to see - whether you'll be there or not - please let us
      know.

Other ways to act, and things to read -

Just Foreign Policy created a MoveOn petition opposing
intervention, by calling for Congressional authorization for any
action. This was enough obstacle to block direct US military
intervention in Syria last autumn, and perhaps it could be here:

Some articles with aspects you won't likely read in the mainstream
media, thanks to Lee Siu Hin -
