Dear Robert,
I know we wrote you yesterday. But: 1) yesterday, the vote on the Schiff amendment to repeal the 2001 AUMF was postponed until this morning and 2) your Representative, Rodney Davis, is a key Republican target to flip from no to yes. He voted against the Republican leadership to support the Amash-Conyers amendment to stop NSA blanket surveillance. But last year he voted no on AUMF repeal.
Can you call Rep. Davis now at 855-686-6927, urging him to vote yes on the Schiff amendment to repeal the 2001 AUMF? If you called yesterday, can you please call again, and urge others in the district to call? The vote is likely to be very close.
Thanks for all you do. The alert we sent yesterday is below.

Call  855-686-6927 NOW!
Urge Rep. Davis to vote for Schiff-Garamendi amendment #21 to repeal 2001 AUMF!
Report your call
Today, the House of Representatives is voting on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Last night, the House Rules Committee allowed a vote on the Schiff amendment repealing the 2001 Authorization for the Use of Military Force. A similar amendment got close last year; today, the Schiff amendment repealing the 2001 AUMF could pass the House.
Please contact your Representative NOW.
Call by using this special toll-free* number: 1-855-68 NO WAR (1-855-686-6927). This number will connect you with the Capitol Switchboard operator, and you should ask to be connected to your Representative’s office. Introduce yourself as a constituent, and then make the following ask:
SUPPORT Amendment #21, the Schiff (D-CA)-Garamendi (D-CA) amendment to repeal the 2001 authorization for the use of military force. The 2001 AUMF has been used as justification for 13 years of war in Afghanistan, indefinite detention at Guantanamo Bay, and unaccountable drone strikes in Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia.
Please take two minutes right now to call your Representative on this important issue. Call toll-free 1-855-686-6927 NOW!
When you've made your call, you can report the results here:
