Dear friend, 

Pam Africa and Mumia's lawyer Bret Grote (Abolitionist Law Center) attempted
to visit Mumia at SCI Mahanoy today. The prison barred all visitors today
for "health and security reasons".

And this morning Mumia was given a mandatory order to report to the
infirmary where he was readmitted.

As I was at Prison Radio's studio in San Francisco on Sunday afternoon, the
phone rang.

supporters. He reached out to us; it's now time for us to reach out to him.
His effort to record a commentary is a testimony to his courage and
resilience. Please know that he remains critically ill and needs our support

Mumia was seen Saturday for 2.5 hours by his wife Wadiya Jamal, and Rachel
Wolkenstein. (

here.) This visit revealed that Mumia was critically weakened and
experiencing serious symptoms that are often associated with hyper glucose
levels, kidney stress and failure, and renal failure. This image below shows
the severity of his chronic skin condition, which has resulted in cracked
and open wounds over his entire body. His limbs are immensely swollen and he
is barely able to walk.

Cheat Sheet to calling Prison & State Officials

Often when we call in, prison and state officials have taken their lines off
the hook. Know that every single call matters, even when they don't pick up.
Here are three numbers that usually work; please focus on calling:

Governor Tom Wolf:  <tel:%28717%29%20787-2500> (717) 787-2500
SCI Mahanoy:   <tel:%28570%29%20773-2158> (570) 773-2158,  then dial zero

Wetzel's number will go to voicemail. Wolf's number will usually be
answered. Mahanoy, extension 0, will usually be answered. We're asking
everyone to call these numbers repeatedly for 15 minutes per day. 

*	If you get voicemail, leave a message.
*	If answered, say as much as you can before they end the call. Please
call that same number and do it again. Our experience is that after calling
the same number multiple times, whomever answers the phone will eventually
talk to you, if only to try to persuade you to stop calling. This is your
opportunity to fully state your concern and demands for freedom and
lifesaving medical care.

Mumia's life is on the line. Your calls, letters, and organizing are what
could literally help pull him through this crisis.
