[Peace-discuss] Rodney Davis did one good thing: back right of states to set own medical marijuana laws

Of course, Illinois is a state that has passed such a law, so it is far
from a wild position for him to take. Still, I can't remember the last time
I got a letter from Rodney Davis saying that he'd done the thing that I
wanted him to do, so I thought it was noteworthy.

Dear Mr. Naiman,

Thank you for contacting me regarding your support for the McClintock-Polis
Amendment to the Commerce Justice and Science Appropriations bill. I
appreciate hearing from constituents in my district and the time you took
to share your thoughts.

I supported the McClintock-Polis Amendment because I believe the federal
government should not impede on states' rights to make their own decisions
and laws regarding medical marijuana. In fact states have already imposed
laws to sell, regulate, and distribute marijuana for medicinal purposes and
I support the right of the states to make those decisions.

Again, thank you for contacting me regarding this important issue, as your
member of Congress I will continue to be a strong advocate for states'
rights. Please let me know if my office can be of assistance to you in the
future. In addition, if you would like to stay informed on what is
happening in Washington, DC and around the 13th District, I encourage you
to sign up to receive my e-newsletter by visiting

represent you.
