[Peace-discuss] [sf-core] "Telling people what the state believes"

I don’t know that I would have anything special to contribute in a meeting with Carol, but I would be willing to meet just to ask just she decided not to vote on this issue.
Would she meet with us?

Dave, [replying to All this time]

Yes, I'd be very interested in meeting with Carol some time about this. I hadn't contacted her about it (partly from having been out of town and distracted, and partly because like you I didn't imagine that it would come up in the House so quickly). To others who did speak to her office, good for you.

Though of course glad that Carol didn't vote Yes on this, I wish she had voted No. Even if she didn't want to argue on the question of boycotting Israeli settlement products, or of confounding Israel proper with the territories it is occupying, she could have used the ACLU's judgement that an anti-boycott law like this is an unconstitutional restriction of free speech. This was a bad move, and I'd like to let her know I think so, and to ask about her thinking in taking it.

O,K., well then I think everyone who is opposed to this outrageous bill need to organize a meeting with Carol.
Who is willing ?

You’re grasping at straw men here, David.

Has Carol explained, defended, or apologized for her vote?

Or given any indication that representations made to her beforehand would have made a difference?

Also Carl,

How do you think Sam Rosenberg would have voted if he was our State Rep ?

I can guarantee you that he would have enthusiastically voted YES, and would not have cared how many people contacted him to urge him to vote NO.

At least she didn’t vote in favor !

And back to my question ; “ Did anyone in C-U contact her ?

I assume the answer is NO.
