[Peace-discuss] Socialist organizations

Yes, they do "get it." My sense is that some times squabbles over doctrine obscure the basic political decency. In another sense, there are issues with tactics and "vanguardism." The question, as always, is: How do we contribute to a politicized view of the world among working class people that is constructive, and leads to organizing and mobilization?

At a recent Green Party meeting some of us were discussing and criticizing some of the socialist organizations out there, as we tend to critique all political organizations. However, I do believe that the socialist organizations whether it be ISO, SWP, etc. do educate their people, in that whatever leanings they take on they do "get it". The problem of mere reforms, or focusing on identity issues, embracing neoliberalism,  is not something in which they indulge. They understand the deep rooted complexities involved in changing society and the need for systematic change.
