[Peace-discuss] Invitation to participate in a televised discussion of the war

Members and friends of the Anti-War Anti-Racism Effort of C-U are invited to participate in a weekly hour of discussion of US war-making, cablecast on UPTV and YouTube.

Although largely ignored in US media, President Obama is making war in eight countries (two more than George Bush), sending what is essentially a private presidential army of 80,000 ("special operations forces") into 135 countries (by their own count) - where their activities include kidnapping (“rendition”), torture, and murder - and continuing to kill people in “the most extreme terrorist campaign of modern times,” his drone assassinations. (He chooses the targets personally and has already killed more than 6,000 people, including US citizens and hundreds of children.)  But usually Americans hear of war-making only by foreigners, notably Russians and Arabs.

We record the program, called AWARE ON THE AIR, Tuesdays at noon in the Urbana City Building, 400 South Vine Street, Urbana. It is unrehearsed, and the public is invited to listen to or participate in the discussion.
