[Peace-discuss] Brennan on Trump at the CIA

John Brennan, a confirmed torturer and murderer - he was too gamey for Obama to make him CIA director at the outset of his administration (he did it later) - seems to want to lead the ‘deep state/permanent government’ resistance against the pacific (pun intended) inclinations of the Trump administration - as Allen Dulles is supposed to have done (up to and including Kennedy’s death) in regard to the Kennedy administration, according to e.g. David Talbot’s "The Devil's Chessboard: Allen Dulles, the CIA, and the Rise of America's Secret Government” [2015]).

I don’t think I entirely believe Talbot’s account - for one thing, Kennedy’s death led to no change in US war policy (so people of Talbot's persuasion are reduced to arguing that the undoubted war-criminal Kennedy was *planning* to withdraw from Vietnam; for that argument, see a much better book, James Douglass’ "JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why It Matters” [2008] - although my tentative conclusion is that Oswald was indeed a lone gunman: hey, I’m still working on whether Stanton was involved in assassinating Lincoln...). 

We would I think do much better to look at and oppose the crimes (for which we are responsible) of the US government, a half-century ago (to learn from) and today (to oppose). As Chomsky says, "There’s a good reason why nobody studies history: it just teaches you too much.”

I think the jury is still out on whether the Brennanesque criminals will be able to twist Trump’s policy into the murderous Obama/neocon direction. They’re certainly trying.

Such is the rot, filth, decay, corruption and sheer criminality poisoning and polluting this Campus and our Good Community by the Faculty of the Illinois Nazis Law School. Fab.
