Yeah, people should go and ask Illiniwak Chancellor Jones why he resurrected Chief Iliniwak twice during this academic year alone. As for the Dean of the Illiniwak Killer Koh Law School, someone should ask Iceman Amar why he came out publicly and on a nationwide basis against the Sanctuary Movement that protects 10,000 Undocumented Human Beings in Champaign County Alone when previously (1) Governor Rauner had signed Legislation making the entire State of Illinois a Sanctuary State; (2) UI President Killeen had determined that the entire University of Illinois System—all 3 campuses—would be a de facto Sanctuary along the lines of the University of California System; and (3) Urbana had recently renewed its Status as a Sanctuary City for 30 years again in 2016 after having become one of the Original Sanctuary Cities in 1986--according to a USA Today Graphic, the only Sanctuary City between Chicago and New Orleans. Sorry I cannot make it then because I do all of my teaching and class preparations on Mondays and Tuesdays, including and especially International Human Rights Law.

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,

As we near the conclusion of this academic year, I invite you to join me for a public conversation with the senior leadership team of our university on Tuesday, April 24.

Dean Vikram Amar will moderate a panel conversation around current campus issues with Provost Cangellaris, Vice Chancellor Benson, Vice Chancellor Brown Young, Interim Vice Chancellor Martinis and me. The event will conclude with questions from the audience.

The conversation will be held April 24 from noon-1:00 p.m. in Illini Rooms B and C in the Illini Union. This has been designated as an “approved event." With prior approval and operations permitting, non-exempt civil service employees may attend the event without loss of pay.

A sign language interpreter will be present. If you will need disability-related accommodations in order to participate in the program please contact the Office of Special Events (333-8834) or wilhelmb at illinois.edu<mailto:wilhelmb at illinois.edu>. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time to meet your access needs.

I hope you will be able to join us for this conversation.

Sincerely,

Robert J. Jones
Chancellor
